Introduction
I pray that this little booklet will speak to and challenge those who read it and that they will think upon its message, that Jesus Christ came to set the prisoner free, and however bad the circumstances you are facing at present in prison, there is an answer to your every need.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

BELIEF

Below are some Bible verses taken from the King James Version of the Bible, about belief in Jesus:

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. (John 1:35)

Verily, verily, I say unto you. He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. (John 6:47)

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. (John 1:12)

Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. (Mark 9.23)

These words that Jesus spoke are words of truth, and all we have to do is believe and accept them. When we do this we cross from death to life.

COMFORT

God is our refuge and strength. He is always there to help us in times of trouble. What comfort He has already given to many in prison, breaking chains of fear, loneliness, unforgiveness, and anger. Some verses to comfort you in troublesome and fearful times are below.

The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. (Nahum 1:7)

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. (Psalm 37:24)

There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. (Psalm 91:10-11)

The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. (Psalm 9:9)

FORGIVENESS

God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, if we confess them before Him. Some verses on forgiveness are as follows:

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. (Matthew 6:14)

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. (Mark 11:25)

HOPE

What hope there is in Christ, our Lord!

Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. (1 Peter 1:21)

For hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel. (Colossians 1:5)

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (1 Peter 1:3)

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (Colossians 1:27)

SALVATION

The gift of eternal life is promised to us if we accept Christ into our hearts. A mansion in heaven is waiting each and every one of us who have trusted in our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Here are some verses from the scripture on salvation.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4)

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

GOD'S LOVE

It does not matter what you may have done, or the crime you have committed. So many on the outside look at you through the eyes of the world, and do nothing but condemn you for your actions. These people are serving their own sentences in their own prisons - imprisoned by so many things in life, bound by sin, by the pressures of life and trying to keep up with everybody else in the world. They will try anything to try to fill that empty void deep within.

Freedom from everything can only be found in Christ. It is through Jesus eyes that we should see those who are in prison - Jesus loves you. He loved you so much that He was willing to die for you at Calvary. He shed His precious blood for you, and you matter to Him. He alone can break your chains and set you free, giving you a new life and a peace and assurance that passes all understanding. Only Jesus can mend the broken hearted, and cleanse them from within.

What love our heavenly Father shows to us, that He should give His one and only Son to die for us. What love, a love that we can never fully comprehend or understand.

Call out to God from your heart, ask Jesus to come into your life and you will experience peace and freedom. Born Again! Life will never be the same!

"Christ is the answer to our every need, Christ is the answer, He is our friend indeed,"

FEAR

Some verses to strengthen you in fearful times:

FOR I THE LORD THY GOD will hold thy hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. (Isaiah 41:13)

So that we may boldly say, the Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (Hebrews 13:6)

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. (Isaiah 43:2)

PRISONERS

Our lord spoke of prisoners often. These following verses are some passages of Scripture taken from the Psalms:

For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners. (Psalm 69:33)

He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder. (Psalm 107:14)

Which executeth judgement for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoner: (Psalm 146:7)

God setteth the solitary in families: be bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. (Psalm 68:6)

FREEDOM FROM SIN

The following verses from God's precious Word shows us how we can experience real freedom, in and through Jesus, our Saviour:

Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:25-26)

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14)

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. (1 John 2:1-2)

REDEMPTION FROM SIN

Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sin. (Acts 13:38)

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. (1 John 3:5)

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. (Ephesians 1:7)

ETERNAL LIFE

Jesus our Lord promised us eternal life with Him. "So you may be where I am," were words spoken by the Saviour, and these verses below are His promise to us:

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, through he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? (John 11:25-26)

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (1 John 5:13)

A SIMPLE PRAYER

If you want to know Christ as your personal Saviour, then this will help you:

"Dear Father, I know that I am a sinner and that I need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Saviour. I am willing by God's grace to follow and obey Christ as Lord of my life"

I pray that you used these words and have accepted Christ.
